Driving Away the Cold!

Oct 07 2019

We are proud to be a Driving Away the Cold partner organization. The Auto Dealers Caring for Kids Foundation announced that it will distribute a record 52,700 brand-new winter coats this month through its 12th Annual Driving Away the Cold Program. The effort involves 170 local auto dealers teaming up to provide brand-new winter coats to area children who need them most. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Auto Show. Established in 2003, the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, supports worthwhile child-related initiatives throughout the Greater Philadelphia five-county region including its signature programs; the Black Tie Tailgate, Greater Philadelphia Automotive Technology Competition and Driving Away the Cold. To date, it has donated more than $13.7 million to area children’s charities, organizations and more. Visit MoreThanAutoDealers.com for additional details.

Lansdale, PA: The North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club, at 16 Susquehanna Avenue in Lansdale, PA, received $8,750 from the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn to make technology improvements.
The grant provided support to the Club’s three locations: the North Penn Clubhouse in Lansdale, the Indian Valley Clubhouse in Souderton, and the Wissahickon Valley Clubhouse in Ambler, PA. The grant will help the Club upgrade its email system, networks, and donor management systems.
Robert K. Kreamer, Chief Executive Officer of the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club, expressed gratitude for the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn’s generous support.
“The VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn’s grants will enable us to offer important opportunities for learning and recreation to children and teens, and help us upgrade the technology at our Clubs,” Kreamer said.
The North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club was started in 1966 by a small group of local families who wanted recreational opportunities for their young sons. Today, the Club hosts 3,000 children annually in some 50 programs, including opportunities in athletics, the arts, and community service.
