Yesterday, members at the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club had an incredible opportunity to step into the world of construction thanks to our partnership with Allan Myers! 🚧
Club members learned about careers in the construction industry and then got hands-on experience using high-tech construction training simulators to move earth and operate equipment just like the pros!
Experiences like these are just one of the many ways IVBGC is helping open doors, spark new interests, and expose our members to exciting career pathways as they work toward their great futures.

Friday was all about BIG dreams and bright futures at Great Futures Day!
Club members had the chance to meet professionals from all different careers, ask amazing questions, and learn what it takes to turn passions into professions. From hands-on demonstrations to inspiring conversations, our kids explored possibilities for their futures while having a TON of fun along the way!

Yesterday, our 1st and 3rd grade Homework Room members had the special honor of meeting their pen pals in person!
Throughout the year, our members have been exchanging monthly letters with seniors from Spark Senior Centers of Montgomery County, sharing their interests, hobbies, and stories.
Our 1st graders bonded with Miss Janet over their shared love of fishing and animals, while our 3rd graders connected with Irma—learning about her Puerto Rican heritage and celebrating that she is bilingual, just like many of them!

IVBGC played host in the inaugural North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club Flag Football All Star Tournament! Our friends from Wissahickon Valley and North Penn Valley brought their best Bantam and Middle School/9th Grade teams to play for the championship. Indian Valley prevailed in both leagues in some of the best games of Flag Football in the history of the Club! The games were close, intense and fun with IV coming out on top! Looking for Community Members to Inspire Local Kids – Great Futures Day!
The Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club is hosting our annual Great Futures Day on Friday, May 8th from 4:30–6:00 p.m., and we’re looking for community members who would be willing to share their careers with our kids.
This is a fun, low-pressure event where presenters simply set up a table and talk with kids as they rotate around the room asking questions and learning about different jobs. There’s no formal presentation—just conversation and connection.
We truly believe that every career has the power to inspire a child’s future, and we’d love to showcase a wide variety of professions from our local community.
In the past, guests have:
Brought tools or materials from their job Shared hands-on skills Offered small giveaways or demonstrations
Whether you’re in healthcare, trades, business, public service, creative fields, or anything in between—we would love to have you join us.

It’s been quite a day for our Youth of the Year candidate, Ember! The morning and afternoon were filled with giving her speech, answering interview questions and exploring the Carnegie Museum. The evening was spent making friends, watching the Pirates win and getting a special photo op of beautiful Pittsburgh. We’re so proud of Ember’s grace, poise and confidence through this whole process. She has been an excellent representative of our organization and Boys & Girls Clubs as a whole. It’s a big week for our Miss Ember! She’s currently in Pittsburgh to represent the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club at the Pennsylvania Youth of the Year competition. Ember has already worked diligently to write numerous essays, provided her resume and collected letters of recommendations. Tomorrow she will deliver a 3 minute speech and answers 15 minutes of questions before a panel of judges. We are so proud of Ember and she is already a winner in our eyes!
